Tasks to do for Friday // Latest blogposts

Click the pic to see latest update - see me if there are any 'differences in opinion' though this is going up at 7.30pm on Monday evening.

TASKS FOR THIS WEEK:

Now then, I do not see you again this week so I would like the following tasks completed and blogged...

1. Have a group member upload your Busted lip syncing experiments to YouTube (as an unlisted vid) and then ensure that all group members embed this vid into their blogs, explaining what you did and how. Important: Reflect on any problems you experienced and things that you think you need to work on between now and the end product.

2. Carol Vernallis's findings on music videos - Go through the four areas of Vernallis' work and explain what common threads can be found. Try to explain using music videos - you can use any we have discussed or you can find your own. - Using Vine to video 6 second clips may aid clarity here.

3. Group Meeting 1: Genre - Arrange a time to meet up with your group members to focus on a genre - This can be a recorded meeting that you can then upload to YouTube or even a virtual meeting in Facebook, Twitter, Google hangouts etc that you can just screenshot and evidence. You need to consider why that genre, what do you think makes it a good choice? What kind of bands do you think you could do justice?

4. Now that you have a genre, use the music video analysis helpsheet you received today to write up an analysis of two music videos that belong to your chosen genre. Ensure that it is a multimedia essay - I want to see pics, Vines, YouTube clips whatever, so it is NOT just a wad of text. So 90's.

If Mrs McGlone gives you a task to blog, please ensure this goes up as well - I will add this to the checklist when I see her.

These tasks are not exhaustive - If you want to watch a handful of genre-related videos or Google any "Top 100 music videos ever" style lists, please do! As this will give you little ideas that might prove useful in the long run. Tweet me at @deyes_a2media if there are ANY problems as I do want to help!

BLOG HOUSEKEEPING: Go into Settings to change your privacy settings to ensure your blog does not show up in random Google searches. Also go into timezones and set it to London GMT so that your post times are our time and not Costa Rica.
